Sleep Study has been released. Available on itunes. 24-bit WAV files are available upon request in exchange for your itunes receipt. Sleep Study is my first solo release, recorded December 2008 - March 2009.
After writing and recording my own compositions since 1985, I noticed while playing with simpler arrangements/pieces that I was sleeping better at night. Over the course of 2008, I realized that while working on any particular piece of music, I was actually obsessing on themes and parts, staying up late or waking up in the middle of the night working through these idea in my mind. I had been doing this all along.
I decided to record a collection of material by myself using this observation and the challenge of avoiding the above as my starting point. Sleep Study is the result.
I am also working on new recordings with Jeff Wrench for our project The Bureau of Weights and Measures, as well as with Zen Carnival.
